This new-concept sound engine guarantees a more accurate and natural sound in any home listening environment. SAMSUNG¡¯s DNSe, which was developed after years of research on audio DSP and acoustics, yields higher quality sound with more natural effects than conventional methods do. DNSe, with its Speaker & Room Correction function, first analyzes the frequency response of the speaker itself, as well as the acoustic characteristics of the room, to optimize sound quality and compensate for any sound deficiency.
Then the Virtual Surround function of DNSe reproduces the complex sonic cues necessary to locate the precise origin of sound information. Previous virtual technologies utilized only a portion of these critical cues ? resulting in less effective virtual sound. However SAMSUNG¡¯s DNSe, coupled with Dolby Virtual SpeakerTM technology, provides a rich, involving, and true-to-life surround sound experience using only two speakers.
DNSe also employs Dynamic Range Control, an algorithm that enhances the signal level dynamically to reduce the audible distortion, which can occur when audio signals are increased beyond the power limit of the audio amplifier. Offering more realistic and natural reproduction of audio signals, SAMSUNG¡¯s DNSe technology will be incorporated in all of its audio and video products with built-in speakers. More information on these devices will be available at a later date.
